Selling a longtime home, downsizing after decades in one place, or dealing with a property after the loss of someone you love isn't an ordinary real estate transaction.
And I don't approach it like one.
My background in Psychology, with a focus on grief, loss and bereavement, Interior Design, real estate and senior transitions gives me a very different perspective on what families need during these major life changes.
My Path Here Wasn't Accidental
Long before real estate, I studied Psychology and Sociology, with a particular focus on grief, loss and bereavement.
That education taught me something I use constantly today: major life transitions aren't just logistical. They're emotional.
A home can hold decades of memories. Deciding what stays, what goes, when to sell — and sometimes saying goodbye to the home itself — can bring up grief in ways families don't always expect.
My role isn't to be a therapist. It's to understand that these decisions deserve patience, empathy and time, while still helping families keep moving forward.

With over 25 years of construction experience, Mark brings practical, hands-on knowledge to our downsizing team. He helps clients assess what needs attention before a home goes to market, coordinates repairs and trusted trades, and assists with the physical side of preparing a property—from small fixes to hauling and property clean-out. His role is simple: help take more off our clients’ plates and get the home market-ready with less stress.

Our hands-on downsizing assistants are there when clients need an extra set of capable hands. They help with sorting and decluttering, packing, organizing belongings, preparing donations and deep cleaning—taking care of the time-consuming work that can make downsizing feel overwhelming. Working alongside Anette and Mark, they help turn a long to-do list into a manageable, organized transition.

There's a very good chance I'm talking about animals.
Animals hold a very special place in our hearts. Over the years, we’ve opened our home—and our hearts—to many rescued dogs and cats, both locally and from around the world. At our highest point, we joyfully shared our lives with 7 dogs and 5 cats—all rescued, all loved like family.
Our rescue journey has taken us from local overcrowded shelters and families in need, to as far as Costa Rica and Egypt. One of our most unforgettable rescues is Layaly, a brave Egyptian street dog with a severe neck injury. When local vets couldn’t provide the care she desperately needed, we answered a call for help from her rescuer, brought her to Canada, and got her life-saving surgery. Her incredible journey was captured in a documentary that won the top animal rescue prize at TIFF in 2022.
For us, rescue isn’t just a passion—it’s a way of life.
